Curry For Change

Curry For Change

The philosophy which drives Urban Rajah is simple, it's about transforming lives for the better which is why this June we're supporting Curry For Change. The campaign is being run by Find Your Feet to raise awareness and vital funds so families in Asia and Africa can build a future free from hunger.

So this year the Urban Rajah is collaborating with the Hobbs House Bakery to run a special cookery class this June for Curry for Change. Using recipes from the latest cookbook, The Urban Rajah’s Curry Memoirs, the workshop will transport you to the fragrant streets of the Indian Subcontinent, the home of curry and original street food. I'll translate that world of possibility into techniques and vibrant dishes that will work within your own kitchen, accompanied by a personalised copy of his book, included as part of this workshop. Book this workshop now and join me in supporting  Curry for Change, find out more about the campaign and get plenty of ideas to help you change lives with curry!

One in eight people (World Food Programme 2012) around the world suffer from hunger because they don’t have enough to eat all year round. The majority of these people, like the families Find Your Feet works with, live in very remote areas of Asia and Africa without the means or opportunity to speak out and change things for the better. Find Your Feet supports very poor rural families in Asia and Africa to grow enough food so they don't have to go hungry, to strengthen their voice so they can speak out against injustice and to earn enough money so they can find their feet.

Curry For Change

In addition to my workshop at Hobbs House Bakery, you can also get stuck in by doing a few easy and totally delicious things.

Get involved by dining out at participating restaurants in London throughout June where you will have the chance to donate with your meal, or you can sign up to receive a free event pack and spices and host your own curry evening in aid of the families they work with. For more information and to sign up visit: www.curryforchange.org.uk.

There's two elements to the campaign – dining out and eating in. So either visit partner restaurants who are offering the chance to add a donation with the bill or choose a special dish/menu in aid of Find Your Feet, or host your own curry evening throughout the year.

All information can be found on: www.curryforchange.org.uk

Find Your Feet is a small international development organisation based in London, who enable poor rural families in Malawi, Zimbabwe, Nepal and northern India to grow enough food so they don’t have to go hungry.
